This page is to purchase the Reversible Coat Class

This class is the Two-day Reversible Fleece Coat. Learn to sew with fleece and make a unique coat! Each day will run about 2 ½ hours.

It’s recommended to plan on attending this class and/or watching the replay to get the most information from it and to learn the techniques as well as tips.

We will be using a commercial pattern and doing a few pattern hacks. So don’t cut your fabric until you are in the class.  Do cut out your pattern pieces….except the pockets.  I will be including a pocket pattern with the Zoom link.

Basic supplies needed for this class include the following - some of the supply links are included:

  • Simplicity 8218 Pattern - The is not included in this class purchase
  • 2 pieces of fleece fabric (preferably Blizzard Fleece) – one for each side. Alternatively, you can use the fabric types listed on the pattern for views A and B. I would not suggest using stripes or plaids if you are not comfortable with pattern matching.
  • Use the pattern fabric guide on the back of the pattern and your measurements to determine how much fabric you need - Feel free to contact me prior to class if you need sizing help.
  • ½ Yard of cotton or polyester (for pockets)
  • Lightweight fusible interfacing – I use French Fuse or you can use Pellon EK 130 (from Joann’s)
  • Two 1 1/8" Buttons (optional)
  • A walking foot or zigzag foot for your sewing machine
  • 80/12 sharp, ballpoint or stretch needle. Test them on small pieces of your fabric prior to class to determine which one will work best for your fabric (and your machine)
  • All purpose polyester sewing thread to coordinate with your fabric
  • Bobbins filled with matching thread (I used 3 bobbins on this coat)
  • Scissors – paper and fabric
  • Pins and/or wonder clips
  • Tape measure
  • Marking tools - optional
